Started by Mike Galve out of a garage in Maplewood. Today we're a 14-person crew operating out of a Manchester Ave shop — still locally owned, still installing one job per crew per day, still answering our own phone.
Mike Galve apprenticed under his grandfather — a Polish carpenter who emigrated to St. Louis in the 1960s and built doors in the basement of a Soulard rowhouse. After a decade of general carpentry, Mike noticed the same thing on every job: the door was always the worst part.
In 2009, he started a one-truck operation focused exclusively on door installs. The premise was simple: charge a fair price, do it right the first time, never sub the work out. By 2014 we had 4 crews. Today we run 8 trucks, 14 carpenters, and a 6,000 sqft shop on Manchester Ave where we mill custom casing, finish doors before install, and warehouse stock for fast turnaround.
