About Galve Door Co.

A family trade, brought forward to today.

The Galve family has been in Saint Louis construction since 1967, when Mike Galve started a small carpentry crew doing what he called honest work — measure twice, cut once, and treat the homeowner right. Three generations later, his grandson Erik carries that same standard into Galve Door Co., founded in 2015 as a direct-to-homeowner door and window installation company across Greater STL.

We're not a franchise, not a call center, not a private-equity roll-up. We're a family-owned local shop growing steadily and hiring carefully. Everyone we bring on is expected to sit around the table with us in five years.

What we're looking for

Requirements.

Every installer we hire needs to meet the below. Some of it is on-paper, some is on-the-jobsite — we care about both.

2+ years installation experience

Doors, windows, or finish carpentry. If you don't have installer experience but you're handy and eager to learn, tell us — we hire apprentices too.

Own reliable transportation

To get to the shop or first job of the day. We provide a company truck for the workday itself.

Valid driver's license, clean record

You'll be behind the wheel of a company truck loaded with tools and materials.

Comfortable with hand + power tools

Miter saw, oscillating tool, drill/driver, impact, laser level, moisture meter. We supply everything on-site.

Physically capable

Comfortable lifting up to 100 lbs, working on ladders, bending, kneeling, and being outside in Saint Louis weather year-round.

Clear English communication

You're in a homeowner's house — you need to answer questions, explain what you're doing, and represent Galve professionally.

Show up on time, sober, and ready

Non-negotiable. Job starts at 7:30 AM. We call the homeowner if we're running late; you call us.

Attention to detail

A door that closes 99% right is a door we come back to fix. We hire people who won't leave until it's 100%.

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

We'll verify at hire per federal I-9 requirements. Any status that allows employment is fine.

Truck for the workday, powered by tools we supply and maintain. You bring the skill; we bring the gear.

Paid training

New product lines, updated installation techniques, manufacturer certifications. We invest in your skills.

Real upward path

Apprentice → installer → lead installer → foreman. We promote from within before we hire from outside.

Family-owned, not corporate

You'll know Erik. He works alongside the crew. No layers of managers between you and the person signing your checks.
